Two men arrested for string of construction thefts, burglaries in Felton area
FELTON, Del. – Two men are facing charges for multiple thefts and burglaries.
40-year-old Irvin Golt of Viola and 44-year-old Jason Schuyler of Felton were arrested by Delaware State Police earlier this week following an investigation.
Police say starting in the middle of September, multiple burglaries and thefts at homes under construction broke out in the Felton area. During each incident, various kinds of construction materials were stolen from the sites. Police say on September 27th, two suspects were seen loading lumber into a dark-colored truck on video surveillance. When troopers arrived to investigate, they saw the suspects’ vehicle driving in the area. Police conducted a traffic stop and arrested Gold and Schuyler without incident.
Schuyler was taken to Delaware State Police Troop 3 and charged with three counts of third degree burglary, and two counts of theft $1,500 or greater. He is also facing charges for two counts of second degree conspiracy, two counts of theft under $1,500, and selling stolen property. Plus, Schuyler is charged with two counts of third degree criminal trespass, third degree conspiracy. He was arraigned and issued a $9,100 unsecured bond.
Golt was also taken to Delaware State Police Troop 3 and charged with three counts of third degree burglary, and two counts of theft $1,500 or greater. He, too, is facing two counts of second degree conspiracy, selling stolen property, selling stolen property, and two counts of third degree criminal trespass. Schuyler is also charged with third degree conspiracy, theft under $1,500, and multiple traffic violations. He was arraigned and released on a $13,700 unsecured bond.
