SunFest returns to Ocean City
OCEAN CITY, Md. – Ocean City Sunfest is back for 2021, running from September 30th to October 3rd.
The event will see the return of two stages for live music, street vendors, and craft alcohol sales after being canceled last year due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Organizers told 47 ABC it’s a great way to extend the summer season and get folks to come down for a festival that can help boost businesses and give the summer the send-off it deserves.
“We are very happy to be coming back in 2021 we learned a lot of lessons from our spring fest back in May that was still under the state of emergency but we were able to host that event and there’s a lot of things the public really enjoyed about that and we incorporated those changes into sun fest this year as well,” said Ocean City Special Events Coordinator Frank Miller.
Miller told 47 ABC those changes include more outward-facing vendors, more open space between tents, and easier foot access to the two stages the event has set up for their live music.
He says Ocean City has programming lined up for October as well featuring Corvette Weekend, Summer Cruising Car Show, and Shore Craft Beer Fest for those to enjoy in the town.
He says he hopes to see the festival attract more out-of-town people to the town, and see increased attendance numbers similar to the bump Bike Week saw last week.
