Bus Drivers’ Day at the MVA aims to expedite driving tests and credentials for school bus drivers in Md.

MARYLAND – Governor Larry Hogan has directed the Motor Vehicle Administration to take steps to make sure school bus drivers are able to obtain proper testing and credentials as quickly as possible to help meet the needs of schools across the state.

On Saturday, September 25th, Bus Drivers’ Day at the MVA will be held at several branch officers statewide, with appointments scheduled from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Easton MVA, located at 9148 Centreville Road, is participating.

MDOT MVA is currently offering Commercial Drivers License (CDL) appointments at levels consistent with pre-pandemic availability. The MVA recently launched a new function in the scheduling system to allow customers to make same-day appointments based on cancellations.

Knowledge and skills testing will be available to qualified applicants. School districts and/or bus drivers should email schoolbus@mdot.maryland.gov to schedule an appointment in advance. In the email, please include your contact information, including phone number, driver’s license number, preferred time, and location to assist with scheduling.

Customers planning to attend Bus Driver’s Day at the MVA are asked to cancel any other existing CDL testing appointments so those time slots can be made available for other applicants.
