Sunday night fire causes half a million in damage in Salisbury
SALISBURY, Md. –
A fire late Sunday night in Salisbury caused half a million dollars in damages. It broke out just before 11:30PM on Lakeview Drive.
Maryland Fire Marshals say it started in the interior of the garage. A home owner was alerted by a smoke alarm going off, and was able to escape without injury.
Officials say not only was the home damaged in the fire, but a Corvette was completely destroyed and another sustained heavy damage. It tooks about 50 firefighters an hour to control the fire.
The homeowner is receiving help from the American Red Cross as well as friends.
