HARRINGTON, Del. – The Delaware State Fair is just weeks away. Organizers say visitors can expect a weekend jam packed full of fun. “We’re literally putting a full fair together. There’s slight modifications when we’re looking at our grandstand offerings. But live entertainment is definitely returning back to Harrington. Livestock shows, carnival rides, and of course, my favorite, fair food will be here in just a few weeks,”  said Delaware State Fair Assistant Manager Danny Aguilar.

After having to cancel concerts and require face masks and social distancing in 2020, Aguilar says things will feel more normal this time around. Concerts are back in a pod format, and face masks are not required. However, Aguilar says it is suggested to wear a mask if you are not fully vaccinated. Even so, Aguilar says he’s excited to bring people together again for all the fun, music, and food that their hearts and bellies can handle. “It’s just great to be able to see people and to see the smiles. When you’re just reaching out to the partners, sponsors, and food vendors, to be able to communicate and look forward to the fair as we’ve grown a 102 year tradition,” said Aguilar.

The Delaware State Fair will take place from Thursday, July 22nd through Saturday, July 31st. The theme for 2021 is “Your Passport to Summer Fun”. People 13 years or older get in for $9.50, children ages six to 12 have a $4 admission fee, and children under the age of five get in for free. Free parking is available. Tickets are still available for concerts, and pods are available for groups of two, four, and six. For even more information about the fair, you can click here.
