Dover man facing gun, drug charges after being found with gun stolen from Del. State Police
DOVER, Del. – Dover Police arrested a 29-year-old man Tuesday on drug and firearms charges.
Police say Tyreese Payne and a 29-year-old female passenger were stopped in a vehicle during a firearm and drug investigation. Payne had packaging materials that police say are commonly used for heroin. Officers executed a search warrant at Payne’s hotel room at the Dover Inn. Police say at the inn, they found a .22 revolver stolen from Delaware State Police Troop 3. They say police also found 3.9 grams of crack cocaine, 0.007 grams of heroin, 0.3 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Payne is facing several charges, including possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, receiving a stolen firearm, three counts of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a person prohibited, possession with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana, crack cocaine, heroin, and drug paraphernalia. Police say Payne was taken to Sussex Correctional Institution on $123,600 cash bond.
