75% of adult Marylanders have gotten at least one COVID-19 shot
MARYLAND – Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced Saturday that the state has reached a vaccine milestone. According to official CDC data, 75% of adult Marylanders have been given at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Governor Hogan applauded Marylanders for getting their shots. “President Biden set a national goal of vaccinating 70% of adults by the Fourth of July. Maryland set an ambitious goal of reaching that milestone by Memorial Day, and we did exactly that,” said Governor Hogan.
The governor says he thinks the state’s $2 million Vax Cash Promotion helped to encourage Marylanders to get their shots. “Now, with the help of our $2 million vaccine lottery, we have vaccinated 75% of adults by the Fourth of July—outpacing the nation and many other states. We are committed to leaving no arm behind,” said Governor Hogan.
So far, Maryland has reported 6,894,069 total vaccinations. Saturday is the last day to get vaccinated and be eligible for the grand prize drawing in the vaccine lottery program.
