Rocket to launch from NASA Wallops Island Tuesday morning
WALLOPS ISLAND, Va. – Northrop Grumman’s Minotaur 1 rocket will be launched into space Tuesday morning from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility.
We’re told the rocket will be carrying three national security payloads for the National Reconnaissance Office and is scheduled to launch at 9:35 a.m from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport’s Pad 0B on Wallops Island.
Weather permitting, the launch may be visible to residents throughout the mid-Atlantic region and possibly the East Coast of the U.S.
The NASA Visitor Center at Wallops will not be open for the launch. Viewing locations on Chincoteague Island include Robert Reed Park on Main Street or Beach Road spanning the area between Chincoteague and Assateague Islands.
