Child Tax Credit payments begin July 15th
DELAWARE – If you have children, you could be eligible for a Child Tax Credit. They’re monthly payments that help certain families say afloat. “Child Tax Credit Monthly Payments will help set America’s children up for success, help lift many Delaware children out of poverty, and put more money in the pockets of hardworking parents sooner, to pay for childcare so they can go to work and help fuel our economy while building better lives for their families,” said Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester.
The first round of payments will roll out on July 15th. Parents who make a total income below $75,000 per year, and heads of households that make less than $112,000 per year are eligible. Married couples filing jointly who make less than $150,000 per year combined are also eligible. Families could get $300 per month for children age five and under, and $250 per month for children ages six through 17.
Families that have filed tax returns for 2019 or 2020, or who received stimulus checks, will get the payments automatically. For those families who don’t fall under that category, they can visit the IRS website – and use the free sign up tool.
