Shorebirds return dampened by rain

Teams will play two on May 5th

SALISBURY, Md- The Delmarva Shorebirds returned to action for the first time in over 600 days on Tuesday–only to see Opening Night suspended before completing two full innings due to rain.

In their first game in franchise history against the Salem Red Sox–Delmarva trailed 3-2 headed into the bottom of the inning before severe weather came thru the Salisbury area.

Orioles fifth overall prospect Gunnar Henderson homered in his first at-bat as a Shorebird.

The game will be resumed on May 5 starting at 5:05 p.m., and a second game will be a 7-innings to follow the conclusion of Game 1.
