Somerset Co. Public Schools announce 2022 Teacher of the Year

SOMERSET CO., Md. — Somerset County Public Schools announce their 2022 Teacher of the Year Wednesday night during their annual program.

This year’s event went virtual due to the pandemic, but that didn’t stop the school district from celebrating and honoring Mr. Logan Webster of Crisfield Academy & High School, who will now hold the title of the 2022 SCPS teacher of the year.

Mr. Webster, a social studies teacher, graduated from Goucher College in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in history with a concentration in secondary education. He received his master’s in educational leadership at Salisbury University in 2020.

While at Crisfield High, Mr. Webster had created the Student Government Association, a junior varsity boy’s soccer team, and the Andrea Joyner Memorial Wall. Most recently, he had an article published in a regional educational journal, detailing how educators have overcome challenges of the pandemic.

After winning the prestigious honor, Webster thanked the school district saying in part quote, ” thank you SCPS for giving me the opportunity to represent our small but mighty county, as teacher of the year.”

Mr. Webster moves on to become the school district’s 2022 Maryland Teacher of the year candidate.

Pre-k teacher, Theresa O’Neal was also honored during the program. She was named the school district’s Elementary School Teacher of the year award/
