Caesar Rodney lax stays unbeaten with huge win over Smyrna

CAMDEN, Del.- Behind five goals from Freshman Patrick Craig, the Caesar Rodney Riders defeated Smyrna 12-9 to move to 5-0. The loss drops the Eagles to 3-4 on the season.

As the rain began to pour down on, the Riders came into tonights matchup looking to move to 5-0 for the first time since 2018. It didn’t look great for CR in the first quarter, Smyrna taking a 2-1 lead behind two goals from senior Zarek Kolakowski in the first. In the second quarter, Caesar Rodney gained a little momentum, getting three goals in the quarter but the Eagles keep it tied headed to the break.

In the third, the Riders exploded for five goals to take a 9-5 lead headed to the final quarter. Despite the Eagles outscoring CR 4-3 in the fourth, Caesar Rodney held on for the 12-9 win over Smyrna.

The Riders return to action this Friday when they travel to beautiful Abessinio Stadium to take on Sallies. The Eagles look to get back to .500 when they travel to Georgetown to take on Sussex Tech also on Friday.
