Lizz Bailey – February Local Hero

My name is Lizz Bailey and I am a respiratory therapist. I was born and raised in Delaware. I currently live in Greenwood with my husband, Joe. We have two children, Harley and Axel, and we just added a puppy to the mix.

One of the most rewarding parts of being a respiratory therapist is seeing the positive outcomes with your patients. We’re with you in the most critical times, sometimes, putting a breathing tube in and getting you hooked up to the mechanical ventilator. And at times you don’t know what the outcome is going to be.

We get you on breathing trials, breathing on your own, and then it gets to the point that we get to take that tube out and it’s so rewarding to be able to hear a patient talk and say, “You helped me.”
