UPDATE: Police continue to search for suspect wanted in homicide of Wicomico Co. Correctional Officer

POCOMOKE, Md. – Maryland State Police are continuing to search for the man suspected in the murder of a woman found last week in Worcester County.

48-year-old Lesa White was found dead the evening of January 6th, inside a residence in the 1400 block of Snow Hill Lane in Pocomoke. White was reported missing by family members on Monday, January 4th, and it was reported that she was seen earlier that day in Pocomoke City.

An autopsy has revealed that her death was a homicide by a gunshot wound.

Investigators are searching for 52-year-old William Strand of Pocomoke, who also reportedly has a warrant out for his arrest in a separate attempted murder case and is a suspect of interest in this case. He was last seen driving a 2014 Chevy Malibu with MD registration 5DP3127.

We’re told it is believed Strand could still be in Pocomoke or in eastern Virginia, possibly in Accomack County. Investigators warn that Strand could be hiding in nearby woods, sheds, barns, chicken coops, or other outbuildings. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call MSP at 202-510-2847.
