Late night boat fire under investigation in Dorchester Co.

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Police and fire officials are investigating a boat fire that happened late Thursday night in Cambridge.

We’re told the fire was reported at around 10:50 p.m., at the Cambridge Yacht Basin. The fire, which was discovered by a passerby, involved a 1991 39 ft Topaz Flybridge and took 35 firefighters roughly one hour to control.

The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation. Cambridge Police and Natural Resources Police assisted with the investigation. Total fire damage has been estimated at $186,000.
