CR holds on for their first win over Dover in three years

CAMDEN, Del.- For the first time since 2018, the Caesar Rodney Riders defeated the Dover Senators with the 63-51 win. The win improves CR to 2-0, the loss drops the Senators to 1-1 for the first time since 2016.

After graduating five seniors, including Gatorade Player of the Year Elijah Allen, the new look Senators started out hot. Behind eight points form sophomore Jaheim Harrell, Dover led 18-12. The Riders kicked it up a notch in the second quarter, outscoring the Senators 19-10 taking a 31-28 lead into the half.

In the second half, the Senators made it interesting, and kept the lead to five with six minutes to play. The Riders pulled away and  held on to win 63-51.

Caesar Rodney will look to move to 3-0 when they travel to Lewes to take on Cape next Tuesday at 7 pm. The Senators will try to get back on track when they travel to take on Milford also next Tuesday.
