Wicomico Co. mom of two boys killed in Christmas car crash, community raising money

WICOMICO CO., Md. – The Wicomico County community is showing an outpouring of support for two young boys after their mom was tragically killed in a car accident on Route 50 on Christmas Day.

Dawn Michelle Moorhead leaves behind two sons, Landon and Christian. Christian is a member of the 9u team with Eastern Shore Force. Organizers with the baseball team have set up a Go Fund Me, which has already surpassed its goal of 3-thousand dollars and is now almost at 10-thousand dollars. The President of the organization says they want to do everything they can because they’re all family and about more than “just baseball.”

“It’s amazing. Honestly, we are speechless. We didn’t expect to even come close to that. We’re just trying to help out with some of the expenses but the community it’s amazing to be a part of the community,” says Derek Adams, the President of Eastern Shore Force.

Adams says the money raised will help pay for funeral or memorial services as well as anything else the boys may need.
