Millsboro Middle School to switch to remote instruction temporarily

Corona 2

MILLSBORO, Del. – Millsboro Middle School will temporarily shift to remote learning for all students starting tomorrow, December 10th.

Remote synchronous learning will continue for all students beginning tomorrow through Friday, December 18th.

We’re told this comes after several students and staff members at Millsboro Middle have had to be quarantined during the past two days due to exposure to two students and a staff member who recently tested positive for COVID-19. These individuals will not return to school until the 14-day quarantine period has passed.

As a result, a significant teacher shortage is taking place to cover hybrid in-person instruction. This shift to remote instruction affects only Millsboro Middle School; all other school districts will continue with hybrid in-person instruction as scheduled through December 18th.

All schools will transition to remote synchronous instruction starting December 21st through January 8th in accordance with Governor Carney’s recent recommendation as well as the Indian River Board of Education’s recent vote. Schools will be closed for Christmas break from December 23rd through January 3rd.
