Parklets installed in downtown Snow Hill

SNOW HILL, Md. – They’re called parklets, and in downtown Snow Hill they’re being used to increase foot traffic and provide seating for businesses. One shop owner tells 47abc, it was a long process to get them approved, but now that they’re here they’re there, they’re working.

Paul Jones Lumber donated about $5,000 worth of lumber to make this all happen. Once the parklets come down at the end of the year , we’re told the wood may be auctioned off or sold to help businesses.

“We may have an auction, or a sale for benefiting downtown Snow Hill main street revitalization, so we’ll see how it goes, we’re trying to stay flexible, do what we need to do to make it work,” says Snow Hill Merchant and coordinator of the project, Diana Nolte.

Right now there is no set date for that auction.
