BTS: Fighting For Acceptance Part One

47 ABC – Monday we started a four-part series aimed at taking a look at the LGBTQIA plus community and their continued battle for acceptance.

This week is Transgender Awareness week and our first part focuses on the story of a brave transgender man living in Wicomico County.

For Harper Howard acceptance is something he’s had to struggle with. Not only with society, but with his family and even himself.

We should also mention if you need help, The Trevor Project offers a 24/7 hotline providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning LGBTQ young people ages 13-24. That number is 866-488-7386.
Also, locally, Salisbury PFLAG is another outlet that many can turn to.
Their number is 603-662-7591.
