Wicomico County Public Schools

WICOMICO CO., Md. – All Wicomico County public schools will return to all virtual learning on Wednesday, in response to a “concerning trends” in covid cases. The virtual learning will last until after winter break.

Superintendant Dr. Donna Hanlin recommended the shift during Tuesday’s board meeting. In-person hybrid learning will resume for prekindergarten students through grade 8 on January 4th, and on February second for high school students.

School officials say in-person instruction will continue throughout the day on Tuesday, but will begin asynchronous learning on Wednesday. Starting then on Thursday, students will complete synchronous instruction four days a week. Teachers can either work from the classroom or from home.

All after school in-person activities are also on hold.
