After two overtimes, Milford and CR boys soccer tied at one a piece

MILFORD, Del.- After 100 minutes of play, including two overtimes, the Milford Buccaneers and Caesar Rodney Riders tied at 1-1. The Bucs move to 5-0-1 and the tie makes CR 3-1-2.

Milford got the scoring started in the 17th minute when a Sam Dominguez cross in front of the goal found the foot of Aaron Sollie and he tapped it in past the keeper. The Milford offense stayed busy in this one, leading with eight total shots and nine total corners. While the Buc’s offense was firing, CR’s keeper Zander Omans stayed on his toes. The senior was able to stop five shots on goal in this one. Milford goalie Kirk Hammer made a few plays, tallying only one save but made plenty of plays outside of the box to keep it a 1-0 game at half.

Just four minutes into the second half, the Riders would make things in treating. On their first corner of the game, Andrew Dawson placed a perfect pass right into the box and Brandon Victory was able to get his head on it for the equalizer. For the next thirty six minutes, the teams would trade shots and saves leading to Cr’s second overtime game of the season. In overtime, neither team was able to get on the board so we needed a second overtime period. In the final period, both teams had chances to get the ball in the goal but were unable as the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

The Bucs will look to remain undefeated when they host Polytech next Tuesday at 6:30. Caesar Rodney travels to Sussex Tech to take on the Ravens, as they try to get back in the win column for the first time in two games.
