Perdue gives back with Delmarva Delivers Food Drive

SALISBURY, Md. – 47ABC teamed up with local food banks to collect and distribute food to those in need for the Delmarva Delivers Food Drive. One of our sponsors is Perdue Farms.

Perdue jump started their part of the campaign by donating ten thousand pounds of protein to Delmarva’s three food banks – Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. They say that at the end of their campaign, they’ll match the total pounds of food donated. They’ll also be converting the amount of money donated to pounds and match that.

Perdue says that especially now, they want to use their resources to help feed the hungry. “Our platform is delivering hope to our neighbors, and our neighbors all across the country where our associates live and work. Especially in this time of the pandemic, a lot of people are struggling globally, nationally, and right here in our back yard,” said Senior Manager of Community Relations Bill See.

If you’d like to help out in another way, 47ABC is holding a donation event this Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at two locations. 47ABC’s Julian Sadur will be helping at Shorebird Stadium in Salisbury. Chief Meteorologist Daniel Johnson will be at Laurel Junction in Laurel Delaware. Simply drive up and a volunteer will take any donations from your car.
