Mispillion Art League kicks off annual Big Draw Festival Delaware
MILFORD, Del. – On Saturday, the Mispillion Art League in Milford kicked off its annual Big Draw Festival Delaware that helps bring attention to recycling and protecting the planet.
The event took place at the Riverwalk Farmer’s Market.
Event organizers say people got the chance to learn more about recycling and reusing materials.
They also got free art kits in both Spanish and English. Event organizers say each kit comes with different art project ideas and then families are encouraged to share photos of their artwork on social media.
“We want our entire community to feel part of this and to get excited about being part of our community,” said Festival Chair Rosemary Connelly.
“So, it’s really about coming together even though we have to be separated and participating in something that we’re all doing and just a feeling of togetherness,” said Connelly.
According to Connelly, there are many art kits leftover, and families can pick one up at the Mispillion Art League in Milford.
People are also encouraged to email pictures of their artworks to the Mispillion Art League at mispillionarts@gmail.com.
