Salisbury gym considering program to help students with virtual learning and to get tutoring

SALISBURY, Md.- One gym in Salisbury is considering doing a program to help children and parents navigate online learning and the changes that have come with learning virtually.

Main Street Gym said they are hearing from many of their gym members that are parents that the online training has been somewhat difficult, especially because parents that work are leaving home early and children are left to figure out virtual learning on their own.

That’s why they felt it was important to add this new program that will allow students to come in and get tutored individually.

“I think it’s essential, or everybody to step up and try to support everybody that’s suffering through COVID, and I love that together we can make it through this, together we can help,” Nancy Chernoff, director of youth program at Main Street Gym, said.

This new program will have new hours and it will be more specific to virtual homework help.

We are told they just got surveys out to their members so no details are finalized yet, but anyone who wants to help can call the gym at 410-430-6687.
