Delaware Shakespeare gets grant to strengthen youth theater programs

DELAWARE – A local non profit is getting $12,500 in grant money to help fund their theater education programs. Delaware Shakespeare is one of ten non profits across the country selected for the award. The grant will help support youth education programs  through the COVID-19 pandemic.

The organization works with schools and juvenile justice facilities to encourage learning about the arts and to give students more confidence. Delaware Shakespeare says that because of COVID-19, Delaware’s juvenile justice facilities have changed the way they do their arts programs.

Delaware Shakespeare says they hope the grant will help widen their reach when it comes to impacting the lives of young people.
