African American Task Force Safety and Justice Subcommittee holds first virtual meeting

DELAWARE – Today in Delaware the African American Task Force Safety and Justice Subcommittee held their first virtual meeting.

The group was formed following the state’s legislative black caucus creation of the “Justice For All Agenda.”

Members of the subcommittee spoke about state issues such as community violence, poverty, mental health, and much more.

They say these conversations are a result of social injustices and they hope to present these discussions to the full task force to help create change moving forward.

“These are tough issues, these are law standing systematic issues, but they are part of this problem and how we begin to intersect and work together for just solutions to begin this process toward change,” said Subcommittee Chair and Delaware Representative Nnamdi Chukwuocha.
