Second round of acrylic barrier funding available for SBY businesses

SALISBURY, Md. – Businesses in Salisbury can apply for a second round of funding for acrylic barriers to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Local non-profit M4 Reactor is helping to design and build the acrylic barriers.

Salisbury’s Director of Business Development Laura Soper says after the first round – there was a high demand for more funding. “We were getting applications hand over fist the first round. I think we funding a total of 24 eligible applicants and we received probably double that,” said Soper.

Soper says that bringing M4 Reactor together with local businesses boosts economic recovery for the city. “This is a great partnership with M4 Reactor. It helps M4 Reactor. It helps the local business community. I think it helps all the way around for a local non-profit and for our businesses,” said Soper.

Eligible businesses include those that are within Salisbury city limits, are small and locally owned, and are in good standing with the city and state of Maryland. M4 Reactor will do a site visit and determine how to build a barrier for the business. Eligible businesses can apply for up to $2,000 in funding.
