SEAFORD, Del. – Seaford School District is using social media to help prepare students and their families for how they might reopen in the fall. Wednesday morning the district uploaded a YouTube video that shows superintendent Dr. Corey Miklus speaking with Doug Henry – Coordinator of Buildings and Grounds.

Dr. Miklus says that’s just episode one of the series – and that the community can expect to hear from more school officials in the coming weeks. “This is really evolving each week – having discussions. We think the next video – that we’ll shoot hopefully later this week – will focus on some school principles and they’ll be able to talk a little bit about some of the plans that they have,” said Dr. Miklus.

The superintendent says he hopes that by highlighting how the district is preparing – the community can be more at ease about sending their kids back to school. “We’re in a stage now where we’re trying to open up our schools in a hybrid fashion – and that’s what the governor has tasked the school district with. So there’s going to be fears and anxiety of what’s happening in our schools and we felt like this would be a great way to demonstrate some of the work taking place,” said Dr. Miklus.

Dr. Miklus says that he would like to give a tour of how classrooms would be set up in future episodes. You can find the videos on the Seaford School District’s YouTube channel.
