Pair arrested in connection to numerous thefts in Kent Co.
HARRINGTON, Del. – Harrington Police say they arrested a Milton couple on Monday in connection to several thefts and vehicle break-ins.
According to police, the first incident happened at the Super 8 Motel on South DuPont Highway. Police were advised that a man, later identified as 32-year-old Sean Caldwell, was seen breaking into a vehicle. Police learned what room Caldwell was staying in and were able to take him into custody without incident. The stolen property was recovered and returned to the victim.
Police then began receiving several reports from victims reporting vehicle break-ins that had taken place on South DuPont Highway, Dixon Street, East Liberty Street, and Commerce Street. Further investigation revealed that Caldwell has stolen items from vehicles as well as items out of yards. It was also determined that his girlfriend, 33-year-old Megan Vammino, was present with him during one of the vehicle break-ins.
Caldwell was found in possession of 10 alprazolam pills, and a computer check revealed that he had an active capias out of Sussex County for Breach of Release. He was subsequently charged with five counts of third degree burglary, three counts of theft under $1500, two counts of criminal mischief under $1500, one count of third degree trespass, one count of second degree trespass, and one count of possess or consume a controlled substance. He was held at SCI on a $3,000 secured bond.
Vammino was charged with second degree burglary and second degree conspiracy and was later released.
