Delmarva Discovery Museum reopening to the public

POCOMOKE CITY, Md. – After being closed for about five months, the Delmarva Discovery Museum is finally reopening to the public on Thursday.

The Pocomoke City attraction is home to countless interactive educational exhibits that cater towards children. Officials say they wanted to make sure they had all the necessary safety protocols in place in order to reopen. All guests will be asked a series of COVID-19-related screening questions and everyone five-years-old and above is required to wear a mask or shield inside the facility. They will also be practicing social distancing and taking extra steps to keep guests, volunteers and staff safe. Officials tell 47 ABC they’re also working on creating online videos and content to help serve the educational community in a new way.

“We’re trying to figure out different ways to be better prepared to helping teachers and schools. We know this fall, until next spring we will not be doing field trips. Again we’re easing back but we want to make sure everyone is comfortable and the school systems are comfortable also,” says Stacey Weisner, the President and CEO of the Delmarva Discovery Museum.

Their new hours will be Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM and Sundays from 12 PM to 3:30 PM.
