The National Weather Service confirms an EF2 Tornado touched down in Mardela Springs during T.S. Isaias

MARDELA SPRINGS, Md. — A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service (NWS) has confirmed that an EF2 Tornado ripped through Wicomico County on Tuesday with peak winds estimated at 120 to 125 MPH.

According to the NWS, the tornado touched down in the area of Athol Road, just south of Mardela Springs around 6 A.M. The report shows the tornado traveled 1.3 miles before subsiding.

In its path of destruction, the tornado downed some trees, shifted a house off of its foundation and completely destroyed a shed.

Weather Officials says the tornado lifted just north of U.S. 50.
