2020 Jellyfish Festival canceled

1280 Jellyfish Fest

OCEAN CITY, Md. – Officials took to Facebook on Wednesday to announce that this year’s Jellyfish Festival has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This was supposed to be the second year for the festival, and in light of the pandemic, officials say they took great strides to create an event that would be safe and enjoyable while also following public health guidelines and restrictions. However, with the current state of the recovery plan in Ocean City and Worcester County, we’re told the event would be constricted to the point of not being viable.

“We’re grateful for the support the Ocean City community has offered, and we feel we’re doing the right thing at the right time to keep everyone safe and healthy. In the meantime, Jellyfish plans to return to Ocean City next summer with a great event for all,” officials said in the post.
