Pocomoke house fire ruled arson, investigation underway

POCOMOKE, Md. – The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office says they are investigating a house fire that has been ruled arson.

We’re told the fire was reported shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday, at 612 2nd Street in Pocomoke. Firefighters from Pocomoke, Stockton, Snow Hill, and New Church were on scene for two hours controlling the blaze.

An employee for the owner of the property was reportedly treated on scene for minor injuries.

Investigation has revealed that the house was under renovation at the time of the fire, and the cause has been listed as arson.
