Dodson scores top-five finish in NASCAR’s ARCA circuit

BERLIN, Md. – While the local sports world remains in a state of pause, a homegrown stock car racer is making his mark at the national level.

Decatur graduate Devin Dodson made his NASCAR debut last year, and in his first run behind the wheel in 2020, Dodson finished 5th at Irwindale Speedway in California.

Dodson is currently a part-time driver who fills in when called upon, and with more impressive performances, there will be more opportunities for the young driver.

Devin says the team felt good all week, adding he felt they had a top-five car going into the race.

Dodson does not know when his next race will be, but he is always ready for the call when the team needs him behind the wheel.

“I feel like we always learn more and more every time that we race. So, I’m just getting more and more comfortable as we go, and the results are showing.”

NBC Sports Network will be re-broadcasting this weekend’s race Saturday at 11 PM.
