Community event held at Doverdale Park in Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. – City officials and several organizations teamed up for a community event on Sunday and it was all for a good cause.

The event took place at the Doverdale Park.

Different organizations like PRMC, Habitat for Humanity, Rebirth and the Maryland Food Bank came out to provide their services.

Event-goers also got free face masks and free health screenings.

Organizers say they aim to help serve the underserved and that organizations can do a lot more for a community when they come together.

“Everybody is doing a little bit here and there and then when we come together and united we’re strong and united we stand and when we come together we have so much we can accomplish as you can see,” said Habacuc Petion, executive director for the nonprofit Rebirth.

Event-goers tell 47ABC they hope there will be more events like this one for the community in the future.
