Officers responded to the area of Bradley Road and Kennedy Road at around 9:45 p.m. We’re told they initially responded to a home in the 200 block of Bradley Road, where they found a 66-year-old female victim with knife wounds. While with this victim, officers were informed that there were multiple victims at a home in the 1200 block of Kennedy Road, including a 73-year-old woman, 11-year-old boy, and 37-year-old woman.
We’re told the subject who injured the victims was found dead inside the residence in the 1200 block of Kennedy Road.
Further investigation has revealed that a 29-year-old male had been suffering from increasingly severe symptoms of mental illness, including auditory delusions. He was inside his residence in the 200 block of Bradley Road when he reportedly began experiencing a severe episode. The subject’s family tried to contain him in the home, but the subject was extremely combative and left.
The male then reportedly entered another home in the area, where he took a large kitchen knife and fled. He then reportedly knocked on the door of another home in the area, and when the occupant (66-year-old female) answered the door, the subject stabbed and cut her.
The subject then left that residence and ran inside a residence in the 1200 block of Kennedy Road. Once inside, he attacked a 73-year-old woman who was sitting in a chair, ultimately stabbing her twice in the head. The subject then attacked other individuals in the home, including the 11-year-old and 37-year-old. Two family members also reportedly suffered bite wounds from the subject during the incident.
Officers found the subject dead inside of the Kennedy Road residence, as a result of injuries that occurred during the incident. The exact cause of death has not yet been determined and is pending autopsy results.
The victims of the incident were treated at a nearby hospital, and none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening. Due to the nature of the incident, police are not releasing the names of those involved.
