Police: missing woman presumed dead, son believed to be suspect
BETHANY BEACH, Del. – The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is continuing to investigate a missing person report involving 66-year-old Sheila Doyle of Fairfax, VA.
Police say Sheila was last seen at her second residence in the Salt Pond section of Bethany Beach at approximately 1 p.m. on June 15th. She was reportedly in the company of her son, 35-year-old Brian Doyle, of Burke, VA.
We’re told that at this point in the investigation, Sheila is believed to be dead, and her son is the suspect in her death. The Fairfax County Police Department found Brian dead on June 17th.
Sheila Doyle is 5’6″, 130 pounds, with brown hair. Her vehicle, which has been recovered, is a black 2020 Buick Enclave with Virginia registration UKZ7235. Brian Doyle was 6’5″, 250 pounds, with brown hair cut into a buzzcut.
It is known through investigation that Brian stopped in the following areas during the afternoon hours of June 16th:
- Primehook Road, east of Milton
- US Route 113 in Milford
- Middle Run Valley Nature Area, north of Newark
- White Clay Creek State Park, north of Newark
