One killed in overnight pedestrian crash in Ocean City

OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Ocean City Police Department is investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that happened early Monday morning in the area of 19th Street and Baltimore Avenue.

We’re told that shortly after midnight, 66-year-old Kirk Hilton of Berlin, MD was crossing Baltimore Avenue in the crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle traveling southbound on Baltimore Avenue.

Hilton was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 18-year-old Cole Allen of Smock, PA, remained on scene.

Officials are continuing to investigate the incident. We’re told that preliminary investigation has determined that alcohol, drugs, and speed were not a contributing factor to the crash. Charges are pending for Allen.
