GoGlass helps others businesses stay safe during COVID-19 pandemic

DELMARVA – A local company says that they’re doing their part to keep other businesses safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. “It’s changed a lot. I think we’ve adjusted very well and our customers are understanding. We’re still very busy. We haven’t really stopped at all. We’ve just had to adjust our thought process in the way we’re doing it,” said president and CEO of GoGlass Brett Towers.

GoGlass specializes in different types of glass, Plexiglas, and acrylic barriers. Towers says those are needed now more than ever. “We’re getting a lot of calls for safety barriers for both acrylic and – a more permanent solution – which is tempered glass,” said Towers.

The company is installing barriers at stores and restaurants, and is providing hospitals with intubation boxes to keep doctors and nurses safe. “As the president and CEO I have to think of ways that we can think out of the box and evolve and continue to change. Unfortunately the way we knew it is no longer going to be there as far as safety and just as far as safety with walking into restaurants and everything else,” said Towers.

Towers tells 47ABC not only do the barriers help to keep customers safe – but they keep employees healthy too. “When we install it they really see after we put it up what it’s doing. It’s giving the employee that’s working at the business that we’re installing it – it gives them a sense of relief. Now they feel a lot more comfortable because there’s a safety barrier between the customer and themselves,” said Towers.

The company recently opened a new location in Berlin, and is looking forward to their grand opening in the fall. Towers tells us that he thinks clear barriers will become a more common sight. He says that architects might start including them in buildings built after the pandemic. “I really believe that it’s just going to be a common piece or a common object that’s going to be in the place of business now,” said Towers.
