Delaware company sees major increase in demand for PPE

FREDERICA, Del. – A Delaware engineering and manufacturing company says it’s busier than ever making PPE amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

ILC Dover is making a newly designed product know as the Sentinel EZ BioHood. It’s essentially a flexible clear plastic helmet with a tube attached to an air blower which filters air through a HEPA filter. Company officials say it offers 100 times the protection of an N-95 mask and this is exactly the kind of product they specialize in.

“Frankly we like to look at these times as unfortunate as they are, our company has really shown the ability to step up and I’d like to say we are at our best when these types of situations happen,” says Paul Cannon, the vice president of marketing for ILC Dover.

ILC Dover says they’ve seen a one thousand percent increase in demand for PPE compared to last year. They’ve also hired an additional 50 people to keep up with the need for their products.
