PRMC Doctor: Pandemic may help make health care more accessible

SALISBURY, Md. – Dr. Chris Snyder at Peninsula Regional Medical Center says he expects the landscape of health care to change because of the pandemic.

Snyder says they’ve seen a decrease in Emergency Room visits when it comes to non-life threatening situations. Meanwhile, telehealth was already gaining momentum but Dr. Snyder believes it will become even more popular and hopefully make health care more accessible and efficient.

That’s what we do is advise on next level of care, how do you think through this process? As a health care system, we need to do better. We need to be more available for people to help make the right decision,” says Dr. Chris Snyder, the Chief Quality Officer at PRMC.

PRMC is also reminding patients that the hospital is safe to visit and they take all the proper precautions to ensure the health of everyone regardless of whether there’s a pandemic or not.
