Lighthouse structure in Dewey to be torn down

DEWEY BEACH, Del. – The Lighthouse structure in Dewey Beach is going to be torn down as a result of the fire that happened in late April.

Dewey Beach town leaders say they’re meeting with DNREC to figure out how exactly they’ll move forward.

We’re told the structure is likely going to be replaced with a new lighthouse, and a new restaurant may even be built beside it.

You may remember the Lighthouse restaurant was burned to the ground by someone in late April, shortly before it was slated to reopen. A $10,000 reward is still being offered to the person who provides information that leads to an arrest.
