Hundreds receive masks and gloves during drive-thru handout

SEAFORD, Del. – On Sunday, more than a thousand masks and gloves got handed out to people in Seaford for free in an effort to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.

The event was led by the group Si Podemos.

Organizers say people drove to different stations where they received small baggies with masks and gloves.

Organizers also offered food as well as information about COVID-19 in different languages and what steps they can take if they have symptoms.

They say their goal is to keep communities safer during the pandemic.

“We just want to make sure that the community stays safe, we all stay safe,” said Wendy Sanchez, event organizer.

“We want to make sure that every individual has a mask,” said Sanchez.

The group Si Podemos is in need of donations to help continue hosting more events like this giveaway.
