Halo Bargain Center getting ready to reopen
SALISBURY, Md. – Halo’s bargain center is preparing to reopen on Monday. Executive director Celeste Savage says that the bargain center is an essential part of raising money for the Halo shelter. “The community has just really stepped up. We’ve put the call out and the need for the financial support and they have been there helping us, and we’re just blessed and thankful that they’re going to continue helping,” said Savage.
For a time Halo was accepting donations at the shelter instead of the bargain center. Savage says that the Salisbury community stepped up in a big way to help support Halo while the bargain center was closed. She also tells us that she and her team have been working hard to make sure the bargain center is ready to reopen Monday. “The hand sanitizer’s there. Everything is dusted, cleaned off, and ready to go to make sure that everybody’s safe. When they come in, we are requiring masks to be worn, and we’re just following the protocol of what needs to be followed,” said Savage.
Savage tells us that she’s closely monitoring updates from the governor and using his guidelines for safe operation. She says Halo is also accepting donations of disinfectant and cleaning materials to make sure any merchandise coming into the bargain center is clean and safe.
