Domestic incident leads to strangulation charges for Harrington man
HARRINGTON, Del. – Police arrested a Harrington man early Sunday morning following an investigation into a domestic incident.
At around 3:40 a.m., officers responded to a residence on Rosehaven Court for a report of a domestic dispute in progress. On arrival, police met with the adult female victim, learning that she and the suspect, 31-year-old Michael Boone were involved in an argument earlier in the evening and again in the early morning hours.
Police were advised that during both incidents, Boone began assaulting the victim and tried to strangle the victim by placing his hands around her neck, restricting her breathing. He also reportedly threatened to kill the victim before fleeing the residence on foot.
Officers located Boone walking on South DuPont Highway in the area of Tower Hill Road a short time later and took him into custody. He was subsequently charged with strangulation, terroristic threatening, and offensive touching, and was held at SCI on $3,350 secured bond.
The victim was evaluated on scene by EMS but refused transport to a hospital.
