Delaware organizations teaming up to help those impacted by COVID-19
DELAWARE – The United Way of Delaware is teaming up with multiple other organizations to raise money to help those impacted by COVID-19. Delaware Alliance of Nonprofit Advancement, the Delaware Community Foundation, Philanthropy Delaware, and Spur Impact are helping to collect donations on the COVID Help DE website. The money will help to meet the needs that people might have – whether it be food or a computer to work from home with.
On Tuesday May 5th, the fundraising effort will be promoted through social media to help raise awareness. United Way of Delaware’s CEO and president tells us even after Tuesday, the fundraising will go on. “We know that people’s lives will be impacted much longer beyond that, so we’re working to make sure that there’s resources at least through June, but to a larger extent we’re also strategizing to say how do we really help families rebuild,” said Michelle Taylor.
United Way of Delaware says so far the group has raised about $4 million, and has helped 23,000 Delawareans. If you’d like to donate to the fund, you can visit the website here.
