Black Lives Matter protesters march in Ocean City on Sunday
OCEAN CITY, Md. – In Ocean City, people peacefully rallied on Sunday to protest the death of George Floyd and called for an end to police violence around the world.
The protest was organized by the group Feminists, Liberals, Independents and Progressives (FLIP).
People gathered near Caroline Street and held signs that said things like Black Lives Matter and I Can’t Breathe.
Organizers tell us they needed to stand up for what’s right and make sure that their voices are heard.
“I just felt that Ocean City and Worcester County needed to be representative and show solidarity on everything that’s going on around the world and we cannot be silent any longer,” said Rosie Bean, the organizer of the protest.
Protestors also say they will do all they can to pressure our politicians to make a difference in the community.
