Wicomico County schools helping students maintain mental health

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – Wicomico County Public School officials say they’re working on a Facebook page where parents and students can get tips on maintaining mental health. “Families and students are struggling in their own ways, and we wanted to make sure that there were different things online so that families could utilize those resources and be able to do some of the stuff with their children,” said mental health coordinator Meredith Miller.

School officials will update the page by sharing articles, mental health resources, and activities on a regular basis. Wicomico County Public Schools tells 47ABC that school psychologists, counselors, social workers, and case managers will be teaming up to help research and find these resources. Miller says it’s important for the school to continue caring for their students – even when they’re at home.

Miller also says parents needing extra resources can reach out to her or the school. She says that Wicomico public schools are already reaching out to parents to check up on students, and see how else they can help. If you’d like to follow the Facebook page for more resources, you can click here.
