Virtual Special Education Town Hall

Educators Seek to Help Differently-Abled Students and Parents

A group of educators from across the country aren’t letting the fact that schools are shut down keep them from helping students and their parents.

Tonight, these dedicated professionals are hosting a virtual Town Hall on Facebook Live aimed at giving parents the tools they need to educate their differently-abled children.

One of the organizers is Seaford School Board member, Dara Savage.

She says the event will give parents tools for now and when things return to normal.

Savage says, “Typically in a school setting an educator would have access to tools and know how to maneuver these things that would help a child be successful. but at home they might not have the tools and techniques a special education teacher would have to help their children learn and thrive at home”.

If you’d like to participate in tonight’s virtual Town Hall simply log on to Facebook and type in #HomeEdConnect.

The event starts at 7 p.m.
